This is a full-time role but flexible working patterns will be considered

With your positive, can do approach you'll provide the best possible advice and service to all our staff regarding Learning and Development. One day you might be liaising with external professional development providers to schedule some training for staff and the next you might be collating management information to be used in board reports. No two days are the same and that's what keeps it interesting along with meaningful work and a great bunch of people.

You'll be interested in developing on the job but also formal training qualifications are on offer should you wish to progress your career even further. You'll be given all the support you need to have the career you want.

Whatever your role here, you will be enabling the UK Government to produce reliable and totally secure communications to protect national security. It doesn't get much more important than that.

Technical Skills

We would need you to already have:

• Strong customer service and administration skills
• Strong planning and service improvement delivery skills
• Experience of supporting an individual or team development

To strengthen your application, it would be desirable if you have:

• Experience of working in an education environment
• Professional L&D/HR qualification or willingness to achieve one
• Strong analytical skills

Putting Your Skills to Use

Using your expertise as part of our team you will:

• Consider value for money in provision of organisation-wide professional development activity
• Be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of HMGCC's apprenticeship scheme and you'll provide guidance to apprentice line managers and the wider business relating to the scheme and training providers
• Work with providers in relation to the management of current apprenticeship programmes and, Higher and Further Education (HE/FE)
• Be responsible for the co-ordination of work placements to ensure that apprentices gain the appropriate skills for their apprenticeship and an understanding of engineering processes
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of effective and efficient processes and procedures regarding professional development through apprenticeships and HE/FE
• Collate and distribute management information on professional development to be used in board reports, HR reports and monthly meetings
• Support the HR function with apprenticeship related activities
