We are looking for individuals who are interested in:

You’ll complete a 16-month programme to achieve a Level 3 Information Communication Technician apprenticeship undertaking placements in the Service Desk and 2nd line support team in the Service Operations Centre (SOC).
You’ll be using the latest tech in areas such as virtualisation. Not only that but you’ll be helping to protect national security and going on to solve problems you won’t find elsewhere.
More About You
You’ll already have or predicted to achieve:
• 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
OR:
• 6 months plus of experience working in any IT profession; OR
• 1 year plus work experience in any other profession sector; AND
• Are able to demonstrate working towards level 2 in Maths and English GCSE
You’ll also have:
• A keen interest in IT
NOTE: Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject. This means you will be ineligible to apply if you have:
• An A Level in IT or in a similar subject (e.g. computing)

The Scheme
Over the course of your apprenticeship, you’ll split your time between a specialist training provider completing the knowledge and proficiency qualifications of the programme and on the job training at HMGCC. You’ll also receive paid-for membership with a professional organisation such as the British Computer Society.
Our apprentices get involved in real projects from the beginning. Throughout the programme, you’ll be allocated a buddy and undertake various mentored work placements and partner projects which will give you hands-on experience to back up the classroom training.
On completion of the scheme, you’ll have a solid foundation to begin your career as an IT Technician. You might find yourself in our Desktop Services Team, Server Team, Network & Infrastructure Team or the Product Team depending on what you enjoy.

- 25 days annual leave, rising to 30 after 5 years’ service.
- 8 Bank Holiday days off in addition to your annual leave.
- 2 ½ additional days leave (set dates through the year).
- Paid overtime or time off in lieu. Your salary is for your contracted hours. If you work more, we believe you should be rewarded for that.
- Training. Lots and lots of training. This can be anything from a ½ day internal course to a distant learning degree. If it’s relevant to your career, we will aim to support you.
