This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, flexible working patterns will be considered.

In the Service Operations Centre (SOC) you’ll support IT services for Government departments in the UK and around the globe.

You’ll bring your existing Release or Change Management experience to ensure that our software releases can be successfully deployed to our user community.  

You will get involved in helping prioritise workload, liaise with various stakeholders throughout development and negotiate outages with a wide variety of customers.

You’ll will be joining a team who can work flexibly, work to a variety of frameworks such as Agile or Waterfall and like the challenges of managing a busy workload.

More About You
You’ll already have:
•    a background in either a Release or Change Management role
•    good written and verbal communication skills
•    an ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

You will also have one or more of the following
•     Certification in ITIL Foundation
•     Experience of using tools such as JIRA and/or Call Management Systems
•     Knowledge of project deployment methodologies

Putting your skills to use
Using your diverse range of skills within Service Management, you will:
•    Manage the implementation of the Release by defining, monitoring and recording appropriate steps to ensure that the transition from “test” to “live” is controlled and approved by all relevant stakeholders
•    Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities
•    Record and track releases ensuring that risks are managed in a way that allows controlled corrective action
•    Keep records up to date in the relevant toolsets
•    Manage, develop and communicate the Release Management policy and processes
•    Attend portfolio Meetings to represent new Request for Changes and help prioritise the backlog
•    Contribute to Impact Assessments, helping to identify risk and impacted stakeholders
•    Work with the wider Change and Outage community to:
o    represent the department to discuss, agree and implement new or changes to policy and procedure
o    collaboratively work together where RFC’s span multiple organisations.
