As a Mechanical Engineer at HMGCC, you’ll do exactly that. Using your skills, knowledge and experience to solve a range of engineering challenges, you’ll work alongside our diverse set of engineers whilst utilising our onsite state of the art manufacturing capability.

You’ll have unique access to our customers, working on urgent requirements as well as larger, multi-year projects. You’ll be responsible for taking requirements, developing concepts and ideas into product designs, creating the necessary documentation to enable manufacture and helping us create innovative products that make a real difference.

More About You

To apply for this role, you will already have:

•    Knowledge of common engineering materials such as metal alloys and polymers. 
•    Knowledge of common fabrication techniques such as mill and turn. 
•    Computer Aided Modelling skills through experience of using 3D CAD software.
•    Product design skills with consideration of the operating environment, EMC and safety.

To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:

•    An engineering Apprenticeship or an engineering Degree (Preferably in Mechanical). 
•    The production of technical drawings using a CAD package.
•    Knowledge and experience of conducting thermal and structural analysis.
•    Knowledge of other fabrication techniques such as additive manufacture, sheet metal and injection moulding.

Putting your skills to use

Using your diverse range of skills within the mechanical team, you will:

•    Design and develop solutions to address our customers’ needs. 
•    Produce an appropriate level of design documentation.
•    Produce as-built documentation to allow products and deployments to be supported. 
•    Ensure that designs and associated documentation are peer reviewed. 
•    Contribute to continued development of technology and engineering.
