HMGCC has an exciting opportunity for an electronics test professional or hobbyists with the right motivation to join our test team.

As a key team member you'll get to apply your electronics engineering experience in carrying out EMC and environmental testing; while ensuring correct functionality of our products. Often this will be for unique technical products that include a wide range of cutting edge technologies from vehicle to mobile phone systems.

We are looking for talented candidates with a genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn.


Technical Skills

We would need you to already have:

• Make accurate and repeatable current, voltage, resistance and time measurements using multimeters and oscilloscopes etc.
• Follow detailed test plans
• Accurately record test results

To strengthen your application, it would be desirable if you have:

• Experience in making measurements using spectrum analysers, power meters, current probes etc.
• Familiar with interpreting and working to relative British Standards
• Technical reporting
• Use automated test software


Personal Skills

To work as a Trainee Electronics Test Engineer, you will need to be the type of person who is:

• Naturally curious, wanting to learn how things work and questioning unexpected results and to help find solutions showing initiative.
• Comfortable following verbal and written instructions or having the opportunity to use your ingenuity.
• Can work within a small team delivering priority customer requirements.
• Confident in seeking and acting on advice.
• Proud if going 'the extra mile', with a willingness to be flexible.
• Willing to learn new skills and obtain further experience and training in a test environment.
• Able to follow processes and procedures including Health and Safety.
