This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.

As an IT and Installation Engineer, you’ll ensure our teams have the correct and most efficient technology to carry out our operations. You’ll install and maintain the corporate infrastructure across our global platform. From new office installations to large-scale enterprise deployments, you’ll enjoy a varied, fascinating role where you’ll develop your technical and troubleshooting skills and provide vital support to colleagues and our partners.

You’ll be involved from the start, joining project meetings where you’ll understand the unique requirements and prepare key equipment before travelling to international locations. This role is office-based however you can expect to spend an average of 12 days abroad every month, with some working/travelling on weekends. Overseas visits could vary from a day to a couple of weeks at a time (once you’ve completed the probationary period).

You’ll also provide 2nd and 3rd line support for break fix repairs, and work with a variety of external business stakeholders and commercial suppliers assisting with the management of the IT Hardware Lifecycle. Whether you’re identifying new products, maintaining our asset register and product catalogue, or assisting in maintaining stock levels, you’ll ensure we have what we need to give us a crucial edge.

This role combines installation responsibilities with standard infrastructure engineering tasks.

Initially, you’ll work as part of a small, friendly team of between two and four engineers carrying out large installations. You’ll see the job through from the design stage to end users sitting with the technologies, and help operational teams in a variety of locations. As your experience grows, you’ll start undertaking independent installation visits and applying upgrades – and after approximately two years in the role, you’ll have the chance to apply for the Team Leader position.

More About You

To apply for this role, you will already have:

  • Experience troubleshooting IT issues; either in a work environment or in your own time.
  • A basic understanding of supporting Windows desktops.
  • The ability to setup a computer workstation.

To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Experience working in 1st or 2nd line support, or as infrastructure engineer.
  • Knowledge of data cabling installation and testing.
  • Completed an apprenticeship, college course or university degree in a computer science/systems-related subject, or have equivalent work experience.

This role also requires the ability to complete manual tasks that involve the use of hand tools, and you’ll need to be comfortable using step ladders to work at height as well as operating in tight spaces.
