This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week Monday to Friday or part-time with a minimum coverage of 30 hours.

This role is based in the office.

You’ll help protect national security by providing the essential support which underpins the success of HMGCC.

You’ll have a varied role where no two days are the same, one day you could be completing an office set up, the next day you could be delivering critical equipment at short notice or distributing goods to staff.  

You’ll bring your positive attitude to take on new tasks whilst working closely with all staff on site, building relationships to find out more about their requirements and how you can help. 

You’ll join a friendly team who will support you as you learn the job, working side by side to teach you and help you progress, whilst also having a training budget to use for external courses.

More About You

To apply for this role, you will already have:

  • A clean driving licence.
  • Manual handling experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word/Excel/Outlook).

It would be beneficial if you also have one of the following (although these are not essential):

  • Forklift licence or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with computerised stock control systems.
  • Awareness of health and safety.

Putting your skills to use

Using your diverse range of skills within the facilities team, you will:

  • Use your positive, can-do approach to work on a variety of tasks including delivery driving, undertaking physical tasks such as furniture and office moves and distributing goods to staff.
  • Take part in countrywide driving duties to support the needs of HMGCC.
  • Respond to customer/stakeholder requirements (face to face, written or verbal) in a customer focussed manner.
  • Utilise your IT skills on a Service Desk system where you will respond to formal service requests and issues in a timely manner in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Support the administration side of the department including stock control and processing mail.
  • Be involved with day-to-day vehicle maintenance and valeting.
  • Assist with the deconstruction of items to increase our sustainability footprint.
