This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week or part-time with a minimum coverage of 28 hours between Monday and Friday.

Are you looking to learn and develop your manufacturing skills? Why not do that where you can support national security and really make a difference?

You’ll bring your experience of working in a manufacturing machining environment into a highly skilled team who collaborate to create unique, complex and high-quality machined parts.

You’ll apply your knowledge and experience of manual machining techniques to manufacture prototype components, tooling jigs and fixtures to design and specification. Using your experience, you will ensure parts manufactured meet quality assurance standards, whilst also developing your skills further to deliver high quality machined parts to our national security partners.

You’ll be based in our purpose built, advanced manufacturing facility operating the latest machinery and technology available in the UK to deliver bespoke products to a range of partners.

More About You

To apply for this role, you will already have:

• Experience of manual machining e.g. turning, milling.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Utilising inspection techniques.

It would be beneficial if you also have one of the following (although these are not essential):

• Experience working to produce prototype parts.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM.

Using your experience of working in a manufacturing environment, you will:

• Develop and maintain the application, knowledge and skills to be an efficient and effective manufacturing engineer.
• Follow safe machine operation processes.
• Work in accordance with current processes, procedures and work instructions.
• Become familiar with other aspects and capabilities within the department.
• Carry out an appropriate level of verification and peer review of manufacturing output.
• Ensure you are accurately logging the tasks completed to allow manufacturing to collate metrics and measures for reporting the continuous improvement activities.
