Do you want to make a difference in the UK and around the globe?  Do you enjoy working collaboratively with Project teams, and developers to manage the delivery of software releases to a wide-ranging user community?  
 
You’ll bring your existing Release experience to ensure that our software releases can be successfully deployed, working with stakeholders throughout the development to confirm readiness and negotiating outages with our user base.  The Releases you manage will be varied; from a brand new service offering involving deploying hardware and software, to an update to an existing product.  As the department moves to using Agile/DevSecOps frameworks, you will also be expected to help mature the release process to work alongside.

This role works closely with the Change Manager so you’ll help to prioritise our workload and provide your release expertise to help with the deployment of some of the Changes.


More About You

You’ll already have:

• A background in managing Releases
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• An ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

You will also have one or more of the following:

• Certification in ITIL Foundation
• Experience of using tools such as JIRA and/or Call Management Systems
• Knowledge of project deployment methodologies

Putting your skills to use

Using your diverse range of skills within Service Management, you will:

• Manage the implementation of the Release by defining, monitoring and recording appropriate steps to ensure that the transition from “test” to “live” is controlled and approved by all relevant stakeholders
• Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities
• Record and track releases ensuring that risks are managed in a way that allows controlled corrective action
• Keep records up to date in the relevant toolsets
• Manage, develop and communicate the Release Management policy and processes
• Attend portfolio Meetings to represent new Request for Changes and help prioritise the backlog
• Contribute to Impact Assessments, helping to identify risk and impacted stakeholders
• Work with the wider Change and Outage community to:
     o Represent the department to discuss, agree and implement new or changes to policy and procedure
     o Collaboratively work together where RFC’s span multiple organisations.
