Full-time (37 hours per week Monday to Friday) and part-time (minimum of 25 hours per week) positions available

Standard working hours 08:15-16:15 but flexible working patterns will be considered

You’ll bring your excellent organisation and communication skills to support areas across the business including Manufacturing, our Technology Teams and Corporate areas including HR.

Don’t know much about those areas? That’s not a problem, you don’t need an in-depth knowledge of them.

Your transferrable skills of using Microsoft Office and customer service experience will enable you to provide the critical support they need.

You’ll be open to learning new things and getting involved in a variety of teams and tasks.

No two days will be the same, one day you could be assisting with planning an event and the next you could be reviewing critical business reports to enable key decision making.

Whatever your role here, you will be enabling the UK Government to produce reliable and totally secure communications to protect national security. It doesn’t get much more important than that does it?!


More About You

You’ll already have:

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong customer service skills (e.g. office, retail, call centre)
• Confidence using Microsoft Office

To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you have one or more of the following (but these are not essential):

• Experience of working with sensitive information
• Experience of streamlining processes, ensuring teams work as efficiently as possible

Putting your skills to use

Using your diverse range of skills within Business Support, you will:

• Follow procedures which enable required day to day activity to be completed
• Provide guidance in response to customer/stakeholder requirements
• Represent the department at events, activities or meetings across or outside of the organisation
• Organise and manage the teams working environment to ensure that everyone is able to operate and deliver effectively, dealing with routine matters on the teams behalf.
• Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, policy and best practice and be able to communicate these to others.
• Support the production of relevant team, department and business reports
• Maintain team and department documentation and records
• Support the team in completing standardised business processes
• Respond to customer/stakeholder requirements (face to face, in writing or over the phone) in an efficient and effective manner, seeking guidance where answers are not covered by process and procedure.
• Complete tasks to agreed quality, time and cost objectives, informing managers of progress and communicating risks appropriately.
• Provide diary support, event planning and coordination to the team management

We have roles available in a variety of teams including:

• Manufacturing

The manufacturing team provides responsive delivery to a wide range of customers and as a business support assistant in this area your role will be to assist with ensuring the right skills, processes and facilities are maintained, developed and available to deliver to meet our customers demands now and in the future.  You will support the leadership team, providing diary support, departmental administration and coordination.

• Technology Teams

As a business support assistant in a technology team you will assist the teams responsible for looking at innovation, near future technology and current delivery. You will assist the leadership with diary management, administration and other tasks including planning for visits and events.  

• HR

You would be supporting a busy HR department providing support and diary management to the senior team. In this role you will provide support for the team to deliver efficient advice on people policy and procedure, ensuring compliance with employment law and good practice. You will also be involved in supporting information and data for business reports in support of decision makers. Building relationships will be integral to the role and you may be expected to travel to customers within the UK.

Consideration will be given to any preferences on teams but placement will be dependent on business priorities and skills match on joining.
