HMGCC has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning and Development (L&D) Advisor to join our team. You would be working with the L&D team to take responsibility for embedding a learning culture and cultivate a programme for developing leadership and management talent. You will be supporting employees across the business to explore and identify innovative ways to develop their expertise.

As part of your role you will be responsible for developing our Leadership and Management Development Strategy, undertake learning needs analysis and ensure we have a plan to manage demand for L&D interventions. You will build strong relationships with the business and learning providers, and be able to explore a blended range of learning solutions to meet business needs. As part of building successful relationships, this will involve some travel within the UK.


Technical Skills

We would need you to already have:

• Experience of working in a busy L&D environment
• Ability to design and deliver learning interventions
• Strong customer service and administration skills
• Strong communication skills, enabling you to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience of developing individuals or teams

To strengthen your application, it would be desirable if you have:

• Budget management experience
• A track record of monitoring and evaluating learning interventions to demonstrate return on investment and expectation
• Professional HR/L&D qualification or willingness to achieve one

Putting Your Skills To Use

Using your expertise as part of our team you will:

• Support the L&D Manager by developing and implementing the L&D plan to ensure that HMGCC meets its strategic objectives
• Work across many teams within the Business and across Other Government Departments, at all levels
• Support the L&D Manager with continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to the effective application and development of L&D processes and procedures adhering to time scales which enable required day to day activity to be completed.
• Ensure that L&D offerings are clearly communicated so that the business experience a smooth professional service
• Design and deliver bespoke learning interventions to meet business needs, focussed on leadership, management and personal effectiveness skills
• Provide specialist guidance in response to business requirements in an efficient and effective manner, seeking guidance where appropriate.
• Measure and report on L&D activity.
• Liaise with L&D providers, ensuring that our requirements are met and that the provision meets required standards, demonstrating return on investment.
• Represent HMGCC at appropriate external events, including meetings with OGDs, which will require travel within the UK
• Support the business on projects and initiatives in relation to L&D when required
