£32,412 to £34,657 Plus up to a £3,000 welcome package*
This position is for 37 hours per week Monday to Friday on a permanent basis.

HMGCC has an exciting opportunity for a Cabinet Maker to join our growing team. Here you will have the opportunity to be creative, working with the latest technology and manufacturing equipment to produce bespoke fixtures and fittings for a range of different requirements.

What makes HMGCC different is that you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a diverse range of product designs. You will be turning a concept or idea into a product, creating the necessary build­ to-documentation to enable repeat manufacture and end-to-end development. You'll use your skill and experience to solve a range of challenges whilst working with a variety of engineers and customer's. You will have the opportunity to mentor less experienced design engineers. We'll give you the opportunity to be creative and decide how you want to get the work done, as long as you can deliver.


Technical Skills

We would need you to already have:

• Principles & Practice of Furniture Making Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma or
• City and Guilds relevant qualification (Level 2 or higher) in Furniture, Furnishings and Wood Machining (5780) or
• Equivalent qualification or
• Proven experience working within the cabinet making industry.
• Competent in all aspects of cabinet making, carpentry, and joinery, and knowledge of various timber properties and suitability in different conditions.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Familiar with the use of fixed workshop machinery

To strengthen your application it would be desirable if you have:

• CNC experience.
• Woodturning experience.
• Experience of CAD software.
• A knowledge of industry and associated trades
• Experience in software packages: e.g.Visio, CAD, Office 2010.

• Good written and oral communications skills.

• Design and manufacture products in collaboration with other engineering teams to meet requirements.

• Produce an appropriate level of documentation.

You will play an integral part in ensuring that our products meet overall system requirements.
