HMGCC has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone who is interesting in learning & developing in this professional field. You will receive guidance & support to help you develop your commercial skills ensuring value for money & compliance to regulatory requirements are achieved.


Technical Skills

We would need you to have:

• Experience of working in a Purchasing environment
• Experience of working in a customer services environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including word and excel)

To strengthen your application, it would be desirable if you have:

• CIPS/NVQ Level 3 (or above) in Supply Chain Management
• Experience of working in the Public Sector
• Experience or practical knowledge of Purchase to Pay systems
• Experience of mentoring less senior members of a team Personal Skills

To work as a Procurement Officer, you will be the type of person who:

• Assist and guide others who are less experienced or new to their role.

• Enjoys dealing with a variety of different people and has the ability to use the most appropriate style & approach for the situation.
• Records & share information/knowledge securely; whilst following policies, processes & regulations.
• Deals effectively with customer requests, queries and problems. You will be happy to make decisions, but know when to escalate.


Putting Your Skills To Use

Using your expertise as part of our team, you will:

• Support the Head of Purchasing in delivering a profession Purchasing service to HMGCC.
• Provide customer focused procurement service
• Managing new supplier requests, Requisitions and Purchase Orders
• Creating purchase order within the corporate system
• Problem solving purchase order queries and acting as an escalation point
• Providing practical advice on HMGCC's purchasing policy and strategy
• Sourcing purchases for internal customers
• Identifying and recording savings across the Purchasing process
• Up-dating and maintaining processes within the function
 
You will play an integral part in ensuring that our Government's communication systems in the UK and around the globe are reliable and totally secure.
