As a Manufacturing Trainee, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, gain experience, and be creative whilst developing a new career in our forward-thinking Advanced Manufacturing Facility.  

You’ll be provided with all the training, support, and guidance you need as you learn the skills to enable you to help manufacture products which play an integral part in protecting national security. Our team have a wide range of experience and they’re keen to share it with you as you progress your career with us. 

We have opportunities in the following teams:

Printed Circuit Manufacture (PCM)

In joining this exciting and developing team you’ll learn not only what it takes to manufacture high quality printed circuit boards but how we do it for the community that protects our national security.  You’ll be introduced to all aspects of manufacture utilising industry leading technology along with an ever-challenging desire to improve our capability to the very highest standards.

Electronics Manufacturing

As a member of the team, you’ll gain experience (with the aid of an experienced mentor) in all 4 areas of Electronics manufacturing (Surface Mount Technology, Wiring and Assembly, Production Test and Electrical Safety) before specialising in a particular area.

You’ll gain a broad range of skills. From the operation of automated pick and place machines to assembling and building final products to using a variety of test equipment and techniques to prove a product works correctly to validating that the product is safe and compliant to use.

Surface finishing

As part of the Surface Finishing team you will gain experience of a wide range of finishing techniques including paint spraying, powder coating, colour matching and laser marking, these will all be performed in our purpose built facility using the latest technologies and equipment.

Manufacturing Supply Chain

Working in this team you’ll be at the centre of our manufacturing facility; helping to control our inventory and deliver products to our end users. You will support the team in purchase coordination and administrative tasks in our ERP system.  This role is vital in keeping our Manufacturing teams moving.

Putting your skills to use

Using your diverse range of skills within the Manufacturing teams, you will:

•    Develop new skills relevant to an engineering environment.
•    Learn how to operate relevant manufacturing equipment safely.
•    Work within a team to manufacture products.
•    Learn how products are designed and manufactured in our organisation.
•    Work in accordance with current processes, procedures and work instructions.
•    Aid manufacture of products to meet cost, quality and time criteria.
